The Humanities and Professional Development cell under the Aegis of Applied Sciences plays an important role at the Pimpri Chinchwad college of Engineering and Research. It functions as the Soft skills and the Communication Cell for Language and Communication Skills. It bonds the students with society, ethics and the environment by going interdisciplinary in its roles.
Soft Skills and Communication Cell: The Soft Skills committee at PCCOE&R strengthens the students' Language and Communication Skills, with special emphasis on People skills, Business Communication and skills related to language. While there is great emphasis on pronunciation, grammar, sentence formation and public speaking, decision-making, adaptability, team spirit and cognitive approach to problem-solving are also encouraged to grow into holistic personalities. Good behaviour, good values, an understanding of Society and attitudes are tackled in helping the students grow into ethically strong human beings. The cell also focuses on critical thinking and decision-making and Problem-solving.
In general, the cell helps the students in
1. Growing their English Language Skills and Communication Skills to make them employable
and job ready.
2. Develop interpersonal skills and learn the basics of communication for entrepreneurship
in daily conversations.
3. Various techniques are employed by the cell to assist students in higher education abroad
and internships with their resumes, letters of recommendation, and statements of
purpose.

Functions of the cell:

Skills
The cell runs Promethean, the Literary Club to provide a platform for the students to grow confident through its intercollegiate and collegiate activities. During the first year of study, the cell is responsible for helping first-year Students Bridge the gap in their English language learning. English language and professional communication have been added as an add-on course since 2019. The cell integrates audit courses such as Environmental awareness with Business communication skills. Project-based learning is integrated with communication skills and subjects like code of conduct and ethics making the subjects valuable. The Humanities and Professional Development cell helps engineers improve their communication and teamwork skills with good decision-making and problem-solving skills. In addition, it is a place where you can build your confidence and self-esteem.
