8th International Yoga Day – 21st June 2022

NSS Volunteers conducted Yoga Session and Meditation for students on 21st June 2022, on the occasion of International Yoga Day. This day is celebrated in a bid to spread awareness about the importance and holistic health benefits of Yoga.

Every year team NSS conducts this program and this year also with great enthusiasm, many students participated in it. Around 250 students attended the session in the seminar hall of college. The session was guided by Amar Shitole sir, Tushar Gaikwad sir and all the NSS Volunteers helped to make this session a success.

National Unity Day “provides an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual”.

On this occasion, the NSS team organized a run marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Also, Students took the pledge for maintaining National unity. The run took place from our college PCCOER to Mhaske Vasti ( 2 km ). Faculties- Amar Shitole sir, Tushar Gaikwad sir, R.N. Patil also participated.

“Shivrajyabhshek Din 2022’’

The coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also known as Shivrajyabhishek din is celebrated on 6th June. On the day of the coronation, The Great King Shivaji Maharaj was honoured with the title shiv chhatrapati.

On the occasion of Shivrajyabhishek Din, NSS PCCOER Celebrated Shivrajyabhishek sohala with the Help of NSS Volunteers and coordinators Mr. Amar Shitole sir and Tushar Gaikwad Sir. A small Talk was arranged by NSS and respected Speaker Shiv vyakhyate Nilesh Jagtap sir was invited in college. Nilesh sir Belongs From well-known Junnar Taluka.

The event was conducted at seminar hall and a great participation was shown by First Year Students.

Report on

Blood Donation Camp

A Blood Donation Camp was organized in our college by NSS volunteers on 6th May 2022. The camp was organized in collaboration with Sasoon Hospital Blood Bank, Pune. Principal sir and Sharad Desale sir addressed the program by encouraging students about the blood donation. Many students, teachers, college staff and NSS volunteers donated blood and became a part of the program.

Refreshments and snacks were provided for the donors.

A total of 194 blood bags were collected, which was the highest number ever. Hence, with the guidance of Amar Shitole sir, Gaikwad sir and Kurhade sir blood donation camp was successfully executed. This year around 194 blood bags were collected which broke the previous record of college. The blood donation program lasted till 5 pm.

NSS Special Camp – 18th March to 24th March 2022

Cultural Programme

Day 1:

All volunteers unloaded their luggage and settled in the village. Later village’s respected persons like sarpanch, upsarpanch etc were felicitated and they guided us on some social undertakings. Later, a group of volunteers interacted with villagers about the village’s history, their problems and suggested some solutions too.

Day 2: Gram Swachhata

As a part of Swachhata Bharat Abhiyan, all NSS volunteers participated in Gram swachhata abhiyan. Around 4 groups of volunteers targeted different places and cleaned those places. Total 15 bags of garbage and plastic were collected and the garbage was dumped on a nearby dumping place.

Day 3: Covid Survey

In line with covid-19 pandemic, a covid vaccination survey was undertaken by volunteers. A total of 70 responses were taken. Special survey emphasis was given on vaccination status of children of below 18 age group.

Day 4: Talk on Shiv Charitra

On the occasion of Shiv Jayanti, all NSS volunteers took part in preparations for that. A special talk (vyakhyan) on shivcharitra was organized, which really made people realize the values of Shivaji Maharaj. Also our volunteers too contributed in talks. Later a Marathi movie ‘Pawankhind’ was displayed for the villagers.

Day 5: Tree Plantation

All NSS volunteers and faculties planted a total of 10 saplings near ZP school. Also school walls and a small temple were painted by volunteers.

Day 6: ZP School Teaching and Water Pledge

A group of volunteers interacted with school students and taught various topics of math, english etc. There, volunteers got to know the impact of covid-19 on the primary education of students and shared some solutions to overcome that. Later, some special games for villagers were also taken.

Day 7: Cultural Programme:

On the last day of camp, a cultural programme was organized by NSS volunteers to the villagers. In that, various dance performances were performed by small children and a street play(pathnatya) on the topic ‘Importance of Health’ was performed by NSS volunteers. Principal Prof. Dr. H.U Tiwari sir and other respected persons from the village marked their presence to the cultural programme.

Celebration of 6th International Yoga Day – 21st June 2020

Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering and Research was celebrated 6th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2020. As part of the celebration, PCCOER NSS unit was successfully conducted Yoga session and meditation for faculties (Offline Mode) for students (Online Mode).

Then yoga session was conducted by Dr. Sameer Sawarkar for faculties. He has conducted many sessions for faculties. About 40 Faculty were participated in different yoga session. For Students Mrs. Patil has conducted the sessions. About 298 students were participated in online sessions.

Preparation & Distribution of face shield

Considering covid-19 situation students have Prepared Face shield from 28 May to 30 June 2020 for prevention of Covid-19, all face shield (200 face shield) prepared in PCMC area collected in college. And it is distributed to security guards and doctors of all nearby societies through college faculty. One Students from Nagpur has prepared and distributed 200 facie shield in Nagpur.

“COVID-19 Vaccine: Public Awareness Campaign Contest’’

As per the circular received from SPPU related to covid 19 vaccine awareness program we have conducted the “COVID-19 Vaccine: Public Awareness Campaign Contest’’ from 11 th April to 14 th April 2021. Contest is about guiding and motivating the people about vaccination & clearing misconceptions so all could have a correct view.

All NSS volunteers were participated in this contest for motivating the people for getting vaccinated and tracked their record of vaccination. So total 768 peoples were vaccinated during this program. For this contest we have given the prizes as a motivating factor.

NSS Department of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering and Research has Organized “Blood Donation Camp” very successfully with help of “Sasoon Blood Bank” Pune. All volunteers of NSS, students and staff have participated in this activity. The total 171 blood bags have been collected.

As part of the 150th year of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, on the 02/10/19, We PCCOER, NSS Unit in association with the Board of Students’ Development, SPPU, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by doing Swachhata Abhiyan at Ravet Bridge River. All the volunteers of PCCOER, PCCOE AND NMIT involved in Event of Human chain for River Cleanliness. On Occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Principal sir has given talk on Swachhata and Motivated NSS students who have actively participated in Swachhata Abhiyan.

In this event Principal sir has given message and motivated to all the students and staff members about keeping our campus clean and to do the duty of spreading the importance awareness of cleanliness.

NSS Winter Camp Report

NSS Special Camp – 5th January to 13th January 2020

(As part of PCCOER, NSS Unit Activity – A.Y. 2019 –20).

PCCOER NSS Unit has organized NSS Special Camp from 5th Jan. 2019 to 13th Jan. 2020. As part of the special camp, PCCOER NSS unit successfully worked on Awareness of Schemes.

In the beginning, Principal Prof. Dr. H.U. Tiwari guided us for better management of special camp activities.

Day 1:

All the Volunteers Participated in preparing History of Villages by doing survey of village. The first day of camp is utilized for collecting and making report on History of village. The head of this activity is Miss Pranita More

Day 2: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. (Temple and Gram Swachhata)

All the volunteers have participated in gram Swachhata abhiyan. They have collected around 12 big bags of plastic from different part of the village.

Day 3: Medical Health Check up Camp

For Vadeshwar Mau Gram Panchayat we have organized Medical health check Up programme. And also we have distributed free medicines for villagers. Health Check up Camp is organized with the help of Sasoon Hospital. Total team of 11 doctors have involved in health check up camp.

All NSS volunteers of PCCOE, PCCOE& R and NMIT were actively Participated in this activity. Along with students some faculty members also participated enthusiastically.

Day 4: Awareness Scheme & Painting of Temple.

As social responsibilities all the volunteers have given training and awareness to the people of different Schemes available to them. Also students were involved in Painting of Main Temple of Mau Village.

Day 5: Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti Programme.

On Next day NSS Unit has organised a program for villages in collaboration with Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (Chakan Unit) for fighting against superstition related with different magic and snake bite. Mr. Atul Sawakhande has successful in convincing villagers about different superstitions.

Last day of camp we organised Cultural programme for kids in villager. At the time of Cultural programme we have Spread massage of Cleanliness and Sanitation as well as awareness of digitization by doing street Play (Pathnatya).
