Department of Electronics & Telecommunications is located on fourth floor of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering & Research, Ravet, Pune. The department works with the objective of addressing critical challenges faced by the Industry, society and the academia. The department is equipped with 04 software labs and 05 hardware labs with all necessary infrastructure and instruments for Signal Processing, Power Electronics, Antenna and wave, Digital Communication, Embedded systems. The department faculty work with excellent team spirit with specialization in different areas like Electronics, Communication, Signal processing, VLSI, Embedded System, Wireless Sensor Network etc.
Department of E&TC are having intake capacity of 60 students. Department is equipped with four software labs used for the practical of Data Structure, OOP, DSP, Embedded System, System Programming, Digital Communication etc and Four hardware labs utilized for the subjects Power Electronics, Digital Electronics, EDC, Basic Electronics, EMIT, Integrated Circuits, Analog Communications etc. Students are having 24x7 accesses to the labs following proper procedure. Mini Projects are designed by all the students individually in each semester which explores their knowledge for PCB designing, soldering, analysis of hardware circuits etc.
Department of E&TC in coordinate with Mechanical department are working in RoboClub. Under which a Robo car designing workshops are planned. With huge response from various engineering colleges’ students the workshop of Haptic Feedback Control is successfully conducted under RoboClub last semester. A product development workshop is planned after second online exam which will help students to understand the steps involved in launching a product in market right from the raw material needed, specifications for a product prototype, its build, structure, quality and durability. This will help students to generate entrepreneur skills in them leading to a small but not the least contribution to the Make in India Projects.
Importance is given to quality teaching and learning process adapting various innovative techniques by teachers and soft skill programmes for students. Special care is taken about the students whose performance is poor in the examinations through counseling and extra classes. There is continuous internal evaluation of students through unit tests, internal assessment tests and objective questionnaires. The problems of students are solved to the extent possible as and immediately asit arise. The attendance and test progress reports are sent to the parents after every internal assessment tests on same day of exam. The parents of weak students are informed about their status by SMS and also by telephone calls. The attendance of students are monitored on hourly basis and is updated online daily in the students’ progress report. The track of absent students is continuously monitored and are counselled for good overall performance. The results are reflected in 93% to 95% of overall attendance in class.
The students are encouraged to participate in seminars conducted by other Engineering Colleges. They are made to compulsorily participate in the departmental activities such as debate, group discussion, Quiz and brain storming sessions. At least four expert lectures are planned every semester by experts from industries and leading Educational Institutions on advance topic to the benefits of both staff and the students. The staff members are encouraged to attend national and state level workshop to enhance their knowledge. Every effort is made to constantly improve the results of the students. Due to the concerted efforts of both staff and students, the results are also constantly improving. The process of learning is extremely important in life. What you learn, how you learn and where you learn play a crucial role in developing ones intellectual capability, besides career.
