2. Internship

The students are encouraged to take internship program during their semester break. Faculty members give their guidelines, suggestions and scope and contact details of an internship. They also help the students by interacting with the industrial experts, provide the students recommendation letters and other necessary supports. The alumni coordinator constantly interacts with alumni those who are working in the industries and request them to provide necessary guidelines and supports for their junior’s internship.

Summary: Department of Civil Engineering organized a three days workshop on RS And GIS for civil engineering students About 26 students for three days workshop and +60 students for one day session from the Department of Civil Engineering from our college participated in the workshop. The Session began with a brief introduction of the resource person Mr. Sachchidanand Singh & Ms. Saloni Deshpande. Mr Sudharshan Bobade Focused on a brief overview of the importance of RS & GIS and how this latest technology is important for civil engineering field. All the sessions were simple and easy to understand. Knowledge on working and application of Remote sensing and GIS with Hands on software session were indeed a great experience to all the participants. All the students actively participated in the event to make it a grand success. At end of workshop certificate distribution for students and felicitation of resource persons was done in presence of Respected Principal Dr. Harish Tiwari.

Summary: Department of civil Engineering organized a one day workshop on skill development program for civil engineering students About 94 students + 20 faculties from the Department of Civil Engineering from our college and other engineering college participated in the workshop. All the sessions were simple and easy to understand. Hands on skill development session were indeed a great experience to all the participants. The sessions were handled by experts from respective area in civil engineering field. All the faculty and staff members actively participated in the event to make it a grand success.

REPORT OF SITE VISIT

Aim: To Check the feasibility of site visit as a part of curriculum of ‘BTM’ (1st Semester of SE)

Venue:Elegance Residency, Avirat Bhondve Venture, S.N.138, Laxminagar, Near S. B. Patil Public School, Ravet.

Features:

  • This is the residential project including the 1BHK and 2BHK flats.
  • In this site visit the students got the knowledge of floor plan, reinforcement details, and foundation details.
  • At the time of visit the reinforcement casting for the beam and slab is observed by the students
  • The building is constructing with earthquake resistant RCC framed structure with M20 grade concrete & TMT rebar’s of the grade Fe 500.
  • All walls of the width 6" with brick masonry.
  • The windows are made up of 3 track powder coated aluminum sliding windows with mosquito mesh & safety grill.
  • For internal walls painting is used with oil bound distemper and designed glazed tiles up to 7 FT. height in bath &WC.
  • For water supply the underground and overhead tank is provided.

Summary:The Site visit was very interesting and found to be very useful for the second year students to aware those about the different parts of the superstructure and materials used in construction. The engineer In charge of construction Mr. Vijay sir elaborated the details of the executed work in the construction site.

Aim: Site Visit to check the feasibility of site as a part of curriculum of ‘BTM’

Venue:Lavasa, Taluka Mulshi, Pune Maharashtra 412112, India

The Silent features of visit are as follows:-

  • The total area of the site is 100 km2 and elevated at 640 m above the mean sea level.
  • We visited Water treatment plant here, It has a capacity of 3.4 MLD and it has able to serve drinking water to 24,000 people.
  • The filter used to treat water is Rapid Sand Filter.
  • We visited Sewage Treatment Plant in Lavasa. It has a capacity of 2.4 MLD.
  • We got the knowledge of various stages of Sewage Treatment plant and the output water which is hard and can be used for Gardening, construction and commercial purpose.
  • Dam has a depth of 21 meter and has catchment area of 1000 acres, capacity of the dam is 75 mcf of water.
  • We got knowledge of vertical turbine pumps which are situated near the gates of the dam is called as intake well.
  • Intake well is made up of Stone crick and copper roof.

Engineers Day (15th September 2015) was celebrated in PCCCOER to commemorate the birthday of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, a legendary engineer and a scholar. Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (15 Sep 1861 – 14 April 1962) was an eminent Indian engineer and statesman born in Muddenahalli in Chikballapur District of Karnataka State. He was a recipient of the Indian Republic’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 1955. He was also knighted by the British for his myriad contributions to the public good. On the occasion of the Engineer’s day, the civil engineering department conducted the Model making competition for the Second Year Students under the supervision of Prof Mrs M M Yeole madam. The event concluded with distribution of prizes to the top three best models by our Principal Dr. Ashok D. Gaikwad sir.

GUEST LECTURE REPORT

A Guest Lecture programme was organised by the Dept. of Civil Engineering for the second year students of Civil Engineering on 10-7-15. The Resource Person was Prof. Mrs SUMAN JAIN from Sinhgad College of Engineering, Vadgaon, Pune. The programme commenced with the presenting of bouquet and welcome address given by student Shyam Shivaji Yesane. This programme was graced by the presence of head of the department Prof Mrs Mayura Yeole. After that the Resource Person gave his presentation on the topic Seepage Analysis and Its Application. She explained the students about Quick sand phenomenon, Critical hydraulic gradient, Laplace equation, Flow net and Flow net construction for a flow under sheet pile and earthen dam.The students found the session to be highly informative and useful. Nearly all of SE Civil students got benefitted through this programme. The programme came to the end with the vote of thanks proposed by Student Jyoti Sharatchandra Mishra, SE Civil Engineering.

  • The approximate total cost of the each 2 BHK and 1 BHK flat is 53lacs and 39 lacks respectively.

CESA - 17TH JULY 2015

Welcome to the most happening field in the world, that is Civil Engineering Department at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering and research, Ravet, Pune. 17th July 2015 Civil Engineering students came together in PCCOER for establishing the first Academic Civil Engineering Student Association or, in short, CESA.

Inauguration of this function is carried out in presence of chief guest Mr. Anil Dhobale, respected Principal Dr.A.K.Gaikwad, HOD Prof. Mayura Yeole, Department staff member and students. The aim is to provide possibilities of improving contacts between civil engineering students and Industry.

During its growth period the organization will conduct workshops, seminars, competitive programs. By taking part in CESA activities students can exchange opinions and experience, and discover new possibilities to understand and handle engineering challenges. CESA is heading for the future!
